Biography

I wasn’t born into the legal profession. Growing up, the thought of becoming a lawyer never crossed my mind. My legal journey began on the same dirt road as many of you that are reading this is on … as a client. I had a child very young and sought legal advice about my visitation rights. I met with an attorney that advised me that it would be cheaper to sign my rights away and then just find him when he turned 18. I was flabbergasted at that notion! The problem was that he didn’t see me as a person, I was just another file on his desk. I have never forgotten that feeling of despair and lost while hearing that, I promise that no client… no person will ever feel that while sitting across from my desk.

Years of being in and out of family court I would observe countless individuals speaking with their attorneys. There were a lot of good attorneys who cared about their clients, however there were far too many that didn’t. That’s what spurred me to become an attorney. I have a blue-collar background, born and raised in NKY and come from a hard-working family. I was in fact the first person in my family to receive their doctorate degree. I know what it's like to work hard and come up short and the struggle to put food on the table. My years of non-profit management working with both the elderly and individuals with disabilities also instilled a level of personal care that I invoke with all my clients.

When you read one attorney bio, you have read them all. It’s the usual “look at me” approach. A cold and clinical synopsis of all their achievement and associations. I threw a few of those below in case you were interest, but let’s face it, you’re probably not. Most clients can’t relate to that information. And really, this shouldn’t be about the attorney. This isn’t my story, this is your story.

I have served as a head football coach and baseball coach in northern Kentucky for over a decade. I’m a diehard Cincinnati Reds and Bengals fan. I promise if you’re a Steelers fan not to hold it against you. I enjoy amusement parks and water parks. You could even call me a bit of a Disney fanatic! I’m also a former foster care parent that adopted his children. Like I said, my story reads as many of your stories do.

The ugly truth is with some lawyers, they are watching the seconds tick by while they are meeting with you. To them, every minute represents potential fees. With myself, I believe I have a higher duty than just giving you legal advice. I’m there to listen to your pain, your fears and concerns. In short, I am there FOR YOU and to relentlessly pursue your rights. Your more than just a file and my promise to you is I will treat you like the person you deserve to be treated as.
